College Nursing Programs Get You into the Field in Just Two Years
Nurses play an extremely important role within the medical field.
Working in hospitals, long-term care facilities and community settings,
Registered Practical Nurses take care of patients who are in more stable
condition. They are responsible for not only administering to the
patients’ practical needs but also offering emotional support to the
patient and his or her family. Nurses also are in charge of providing
basic bedside care (such as applying dressing or treating bed sores),
administering medications, completing charts, checking vital signs and
keeping track of intravenous therapy.
Did you know that Canadian
Nurses Association is predicting a severe shortage of nurses for next
year? According to the Association, the shortage could mean that from
59,000 to 113,000 nurses will be needed. Through a nursing program college,
