Students who undergo business marketing training program at Centennial
College have some very exciting career options. They may be employed as
marketing coordinators, marketing analysts, promotions assistants, sales
representatives, public relations assistants, sales representatives or
advertising assistants.
The program graduates are able to assist organizations in analyzing
consumer needs, developing products and services to meet those needs,
anticipating competitors' actions and reacting promptly to the shifts in
environment, reaching consumers on the social platforms of their
choice, tracking and anticipating trends in consumer behaviour and
developing pricing and communications strategies.
The USP of this program is that it also prepares students for innovative
careers in social media, digital advertising online marketing, account
management and customer relationship management, along with traditional
marketing careers. They will have the ability to connect the business
success with technological advancements.
Program Goals
During this program, a strong emphasis is laid on helping students:
- Understand all aspects of a business establishments
- Gain a broad-based understanding of business operations
- Understand typical marketing challenges that a business is likely to face
- Understand the importance of consumer behaviour trends
- Learn the ethics in business environment
- Understand the importance of communication skills when selling or marketing products and services
- Importance of the technical and digital tools in establishing communication with customers
- Develop strong interpersonal, team work, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
It's a comprehensive program that focuses on an overall development of students.
Program Eligibility
Students interested in applying to this program will need:
- Secondary school diploma certificate or equivalent, or mature student status (19 years or older)
- Required minimum score in English Grade 12 C or University, or equivalent
- Required minimum score in Math Grade 11 M or 12 C or University, or equivalent
Students currently appearing in high school can also apply for this
course. Their midterm and final term scores will be directly transmitted
to the college.
What Do They Study?
During the three-year post-secondary business administration – marketing
program, students receive a broad-based training in business,
specialized knowledge in marketing disciplines and much-required
computer training. First three semesters focus on all aspects of
business operations, including strategies for business success,
mathematics of finance, fundamentals of business, financial accounting
concepts, career exploration, microcomputer applications software,
business operations, business communications, principles of micro and
macro economics, human resource management, international business
concepts and principles of marketing.
The last three semesters of the business marketing training program
lay emphasis on specialized knowledge in marketing. Students are taught
business analysis, practical applications in marketing, professional
selling, marketing communications, business ethics, marketing research,
brand management, interactive marketing, consumer analysis, B2B
marketing and channel management and strategic marketing planning.
